shadow shot sunday

http://heyharriet.blogspot.com/

i liked these when i took them, but not so sure anymore (i almost deleted this post).  The first one is a super close up of a rose leaf  with a blurred bird of paradise in the background, and the second one is a random house around the corner with the setting sunlight shining through the trees, little shadows this week.

I had forgotten that even rose leaves are thorny!

WELCOME THE SHADOWS

Welcome the shadows surrounding your life,
Treat them as lover or husband or wife;
Welcome them in as you would one who’s dear;
Hug them, embrace them without any fear;
Honor, respect them, and give them their due,
For shadow and light are both parts of you.

I think both shots are great...so glad you went ahead and posted them. I have that feeling about lots of my pictures, but after fretting and stewing I go ahead and send them of anyway. These are very pretty and I like the bright color. It is quite striking.

Thanks for all the encouragement and kind, lovely words. Its so nice to get positive feedback when you feel a little 'so, so' about a shot.
